Leave a Legacy

The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh is many things to many people. Whether it's our scientific research, the rich plant collections, our international and local conservation work, or our commitment to education that are important to you, or if you value the Garden simply as a tranquil haven to relax, reflect and create special memories with your family, you can help future generations to benefit from our work by remembering us in your will.

As a charity, we rely on the generosity of our supporters, and legacies are an important way to support us in the long term. Because of our charitable status, gifts can be exempt from tax, so a bequest to the Garden can reduce Inheritance Tax.

"I chose RBGE not just because I love the Gardens and the beauty of the plantings, but because of the conservation work that the organisation does - how would we survive without plants? To me, leaving a legacy to the Garden is a way of promoting the importance of plants."

Carole Baxter - broadcaster, horticulturist and legacy pledger
